Correction to Town Meeting Notes

Jack, Thank you for submitting this correction !
Hi Diane,
I would like to clarify the statement I made at the Town meeting regarding dues.

To correct the statement that $900-$55(fire dues)= $845, note that the actual amount of fire dues we paid to the fire company was actually $46.20. The difference between that and $55 went into the general POA fund. Thus $900 -$46(rounding)=$854.

My suggestion was to bill for this coming year at $875 resulting in an increase of $875-$854=$21. Given 580 houses paying this results in an actual increase, not taking into account the fire dues, of $12,180. I felt this would be a modest increase of revenue which really would not do much. On the surface when the statements go out they would show $875 which actually appears lower than last year, again disregarding the fire dues.

I did not suggest a $100 assessment for the Capital Improvements. What I did say was since we have no idea at this time what the Budget for next year will be, we should wait until the Budget is approved and see how things go for a few months. After we get some idea how we are doing, if we see we need additional funds we could then levy a special assessment which may or may not include funding the Capital Improvements Fund.

Thank you,
Jack Watson

Architecture Control Committee - ACC

The ACC meets at least once a month, but because there is not a lot of ‘business’ presently, we have not set a specific time monthly for meetings. We have been in touch with our committee members via email for any quick updates ie: home repair permits regarding: propane tanks, roofing repairs etc., but presently have only one home under construction (which our committee met to discuss) The emails and meetings are part of the ACC official minutes. Our ACC Board liaison is Jack Watson with whom we are in touch frequently and a very valuable asset to our ACC.
Sincerely, Jimmie [Weber]

Message from the President

In order to meet all our upcoming deadlines, a Town Meeting was scheduled for Monday, February 11, 2013. It has now become obvious that we will need to draw on our line of credit in order to finish the Fiscal Year.

This has taken a little of the urgency off our schedule and will allow for extended board discussion. The meeting for February 11th will continue, but the format will be that of the Board Workshop, or open discussion among the board members.

Continuing this board's dedication to open communication, everyone is welcome to attend.  However, the discussion will remain among the board members only.

Your input is very valuable and will be most welcome at the regularly scheduled Town Meeting, February 21st at 7pm.

Suzzi Combs
President, DPOA

Executive Session - 6:30pm
Board Work Shop - 7:00pm
