Board Meeting followed the Town Meeting

Lawsuit Update same as noted during the Town Meeting

March Minutes were passed unanimously

Proposal by the ACC passed with John Porter stating his objection:  We should table this subject until next month to allow the Town time to know about this action.  Motion passed with John Porter opposed à 6-1

John Cummings made a motion to table the ‘Tennis Court’ idea explained and promoted by Steven Hildebrand / Youth Committee.  John Cummings would like to hear from the community regarding this plan.  Does anyone use the Tennis Court to actually play tennis?

Collection Policy submitted by GM James Turner and passed unanimously by the Board
  • An issue regarding “When / How do you foreclose on a lien?” was discussed.
    • By-Laws Article VI Sec. 2, c – Duties of the Board
    • By-Laws Article XI states “…shall foreclose the lien.” Emphasis on the word “shall” was noted.  GM Turner will discuss this issue with Attorney Jonathon Jones.
    • The Board expressed the POA’s intent NOT to own property.

Agenda Meeting ~ April 16, 2014

ACC member Jack Watson presented a request for a change in the Architectural Committee’s Guide lines to include Metal structures.  This change will be place here when received:

V.A.3. Aesthetic Value: The intent is to preserve the natural beauty, view, and general harmony of the Diamondhead community. Due to the irregular terrain of The Diamondhead Community, the height of a structure is ambiguous. Therefore, if in the opinion of the ACC, the height of a structure if objectionable, the plans may be disapproved.  Temporary carports or garages shall be for the duration of construction only. Metal prefabricated carports, as permanent structures, are not permitted.


Add the following item to article V.G RV Parking Areas:
3.  Any structure or carport facility will require a permit approved by the ACC. Materials shall be commercially available, of substantial material, and securely anchored in the ground or other foundation. It shall be in harmony with the residence and the surrounding area.  Metal prefabricated carports are allowed provided they are located on the same lot as the residence. This type of structure will not be considered as a permanent structure for lot consolidation purposes so as to reduce DPOA maintenance fees.

    • Steve Hildebrand made a request for the use of the Tennis Court by removing the net and allowing the youth of our community to use this area for skates, skate boarding, bicycles, etc.  Steve explained the need for a safe / secure area for our children / youth.
  • Gate Stickers will be available on Monday, April 21st
    • Purchase at the POA office for $10.00 per vehicle
    • Take sticker to the Front Gate for application
      • Verify address, license plate, # of pets, etc.

The May Agenda Meeting will be on Wednesday, May 14th
