Entergy Walking-Hiking-biking Trail

DH Resident Jimmy Webber presented the following proposal to the Board of Directors on March 26th.

The Board was hesitant to approve this idea due to possible liability issues and maintenance costs.  Proposal denied.

This may be an idea for the future ~

Hi Diane,

  Good seeing you at the Town meeting and conversation afterwards.

   The Walking, Hiking, Biking Trail concept, utilizing the Entergy ROW is a great benefit for DH residents, promoting the health and well-being of our citizens.

  As the ROW is bordered by Lake Catherine, it is for a 'private' walking trail only in DH only for DH.

  It makes use of the space under utilized and available at this time.

   After 2 months of negotiations Entergy has granted the use of this walking trail concept within their ROW . This ROW walking trail concept has been utilized in City of Hot Springs and many states.

  The Lions had  accrued private financing, grants, labor, liability insurance and members to work on this project if it came to fruition.  This would be free to DH residents for their use and not use DH funds. 

  With the project came certain liability contingencies which apparently the DH Board did not want to embrace.

   As I stated in the Town meeting, I am forwarding these documents to you for your minutes and News Announcements.

 Monday, May 4th from 8:30 AM until 11:30 AM. 
The bloodmobile will be in the POA parking lot.

Gordon Moore:  The 2015-16 proposed budget begins in less than 3 weeks. I have not had time to go through and intelligently discuss or listen to suggestions.  And I don’t think the rest of us are prepared, either.  We should have gotten this budget in January.  I don’t think we should get into a long discussion about the budget when we are not prepared to discuss it.  It is not fair to the Town’s people.  I think we should put all this on the agenda for the March meeting when we are more prepared…
