The meeting was opened at 6:30pm.  A motion was made to adjourn to Executive Session.  The Board came out of Executive Session at 7:10pm.

Treasurer John Porter made a motion to allow the new Board to appoint the Board replacement of Doc Norwood when they meet in September.  Director Ray Massey opposed.  Motion passed.

Minutes from the Special meeting regarding the Pro Shop buy out of May 30^th and the June 28^th Board meeting minutes were approved.

Treasurer John Porter read the Financial HighLights for June 30^th.  See post with this title.  The Finance Committee would like to meet with the Board on a quarterly basis in the form of a workshop to keep the Board apprised of the current financial situation.  This idea was “agreed” to by the Board.

It was noted by Mr. Porter that we have lost many dues paying lots that have made an impact on the revenues collected by the POA

Lion's Club ~ PA system

Up date on the PA system from the Lion's Club:

The PA system should be installed by August 18th. We have our bids and the company with the lowest bid will start installing within the next few weeks.
The Bingo Jackpot was not won last Saturday. The next Bingo will be for $900 on August 4th. This will be the only Bingo in August.

Financial Highlights ~ as of June 30, 2012

Meeting was opened at 6:30pm.  President Joe Claflin requested a motion to adjourn to the library for Executive Session.  Meeting was adjourned.

The Board came out of Executive Session at 7:25pm.

It was announced that Doc Norwood’s resignation was accepted by the Board.  Mr. Norwood will also be banned from all Diamondhead amenities for a period of 60 days.  The current Board has decided to appoint a new Board member to replace Doc Norwood.  It is this Board's contention that they have the right to appoint a member to last though this next year.  This is on the Agenda to be accomplished at the next Board meeting, Thursday-July 26th.

DPOA By Laws-Article III, Section 5
Interim Board Members. In the event of death, resignation or removal of a member of the Board of Directors, a successor shall be selected by majority vote of the remaining members of the Board. Any member so elected shall serve until the next annual election, at which time, a proper nominee shall be elected to fill the unexpired term of the original director.

PA System ~ from the Lions Club!

New PA System is being purchased for the BINGO equipment, and may be used for the Club House. This system should be installed by our Annual meeting of August 18th

The Lions Club will be getting two more bids this week.   It will be voted on at their next meeting, Tuesday July 17th.   It's been approved by the DPOA Board but not yet purchased.
BINGO night will be Saturday, July 21. Jackpot will be $850.

Board Member Resigned

DPOA President Joe Claflin received a letter of resignation from Director Doc Norwood this morning, Thursday, July 12, 2012.

Agenda Meeting - Canceled

Due to a number of directors unable to attend the Executive Session and Agenda Meetings scheduled for tonight, June July 12, the meetings have been rescheduled for next Thursday, June  July 19. The Board will hold an Executive Session at 6:30 pm, Agenda Meeting will begin at 7 with the Town Meeting to immediately follow.

This prayer was sent to me and I am passing it on to Diamondhead.  As you read this, you might pray for the sod that has been laid near the Club House.

Please pray for rain.. blessings always! AMEN TO THIS!!!! Isaiah 41:10 This is a prayer for rain in those dry areas of America......join in!!! Large Prayer Circle As evidenced by people living  in Colorado, Oklahoma, Nebraska, West Texas and South Texas, and New Mexico ever-increasing areas in other parts of the country, the drought condition is reaching critical status; cattle are being auctioned off; crops have burned up; and drinking water is becoming a concern. Please join us in this prayer circle. Lets make this one of the largest prayer circles ever. It will be as though everyone is holding hands around the world Dear Heavenly Father, You said whatsoever any two or more come together and agree and ask in Your Son's name, it shall be given. We come to you, humbly, and ask that you bring down the rain to our parched lands. Our farmers and ranchers need it desperately, as well as our firefighters. We ask this all in Jesus' name. Amen. You may adopt this prayer and evidence your participation in this gathering by simply passing this prayer request on to your circle of friends! PLEASE forward this if you believe in the power of prayer.
