Community Meeting - January 4, 2018

Community Meeting

A Community Meeting was called by POA member, Keith Strong.
The meeting was held last night, January 4th, 2018 in the Banquet room of the Club House.
President Gary Pritsch opened the meeting at 7:pm and proceeded to hand the meeting over to Mr. Keith Strong with the statement: The Board will not discuss personnel matters.

Mr. Strong introduced himself and began his complaints regarding the Security Department / Chief Joel Tyner / GM Dennis Dubuque.  Several other topics were brought up by various members of the community including:  The golf course budget, Roads, POA transparency, Front gate speed bump and General Manager Dennis Dubuque.  One property owner expanded on the negative retort against Diamondhead on a social media site by a currently employed staff member.

Negative language and angry words were exchanged by members of the community.  Most of this meeting was shared by John Harrison on Social Media by 'live streaming' the event.

Mr. Strong asked for a "direct" response from President Gary Pritsch.  President Pritsch repeated his original statement:  The board will not discuss personnel matters.

At the mention of 'Transparency' regarding Board actions, Secretary Diane Porterfield reminded the community of the recent By-Law changes which included the direct access to all DPOA documents by making their request known at the POA office.  All documents - except personnel files - are available in hard copy.

Over all, anger was directed at the General Manager.

Treasurer Martha Lindvall thanked the community for their input and assured the audience that all issues of last night's discussion would be taken under advisement by the Board of Directors.

Meeting ended at 8:30pm
Private discussion continued until 9:pm
