Nominating Committee

From the Nominating Committee

As most Diamondhead property owners know, the affairs of the community are managed by a Board of nine directors.  Each year an election is held to elect new directors to replace outgoing members of the board.  This year we will be electing three new board members, replacing outgoing directors Jack Watson, Diane Jones and Suzzi Combs.  Although the election seems a long way away, now is the time for qualified, dedicated property owners to sign up for this year’s election.  Close of nominations this year is 5:00 PM on Monday, April 15.  To qualify as a candidate, a person must have owned property in Diamondhead for at least one year prior to close of nominations, and must be current in payment of all POA dues and assessments.

It is the duty of the Nominating Committee, as defined in the By-Laws, to make nominations for election to the board of directors.  Anyone who wishes to become a candidate for this year’s election should contact a member of the nominating committee, who will be happy to provide more information about what is involved in serving as a director.  Members of this year’s nominating committee are:

Rick Noffsinger:  520-1051
Lynn Noffsinger:  520-1052

John Combs:  282-1014

Bob Jones:  276-3778

Remember, nominations close at 5 PM on April 15.  So don’t delay, call today.

Thank you,
Diamondhead Nominating Committee

LHFD had six (6) graduates from its 'first ever firefighter one school'.  Three (3) of those graduates are Diamondhead members:  Leonard Andersen, Nathan Andersen, and Jennifer Lefevre.

Diamondhead member Mike Fikes was elected to the LHFD Board for a Non Firefighter position.

Note:  The Fire Department was charging DPOA $55.00.  They 'did not realize (they) had neglected to raise dues for Diamondhead for several years'.
Please note, by viewing the fee schedule, there are many DH home owners who will be paying $65-75 dollars per year.  One of the areas discussed concerning this issue was the many Property Owners who failed to pay their annual dues.  This added to the burden of POA fire dues, since ALL homes had to be included.  The official records will show that I voted in favor of this Board action. [In hind-sight I see that this was a mistake]
Yes.  The Board failed to follow the Bylaws: Article VI, Sec. e  [in my opinion]
