Topic 4: Maintenance of the Diamondhead Roads/Common
Areas
Minutes:
Diane shared information that she had
prepared about Roadways and Common Areas. General discussion was held about the
possibility of either hiring new people to be dedicated to the roads and common
areas or designating winter months when golfing is sparse to current employees.
Activities to be done on a regular basis:
Ditch Cleaning
Roadside Shoulder Grading
Inspection and Cleaning of Culverts and Storm Drain Grates
Grading Gravel Roads
Repair Realignment or Replacement of
Steel Guardrails, Fences and Walls (as exist now or in the future)
Pavement Maintenance
• Maintain
the road system in a safe and functional condition
• Perform
preventative maintenance to roads to delay the need for more costly surface
treatments
• Perform
asphalt overlays to rehabilitate roads and extend road service life
• Create
long range plan for systematic road upkeep including secondary roads
• Long range
plan for budgeting for upkeep and repair of roads
Inventory and define all Common Areas to be maintained by POA
Long range plan for budgeting for maintenance of Common Areas
General Manager coordinates all Common Area and Road
maintenance.
Evaluate and develop a plan for imposing a fee on overweight
vehicles.
Evaluate secondary entrances for
overweight vehicles to enter Diamondhead.
