Jim Hannon opened in prayer.
The Board wanted it known that the Family Fun Center would be voted on at a Special Board Meeting on Thursday, June 3, 7pm. Terry Shipp explained that our attorney, Jonathan Jones, said there would be no liability to the members of Diamondhead regarding a contract between Larry Brown and Diamondhead. He has asked the attorney to put that in writing. It should be available at next Thursday’s meeting.
The March minutes were approved as read. April mintes were adjusted to read “Back Hoe” instead of “Dump Truck” that needed the repairs, and approved.

Terry Shipp read the Treasurer’s report with special note regarding the delinquent lots.

New Business:
Todd Belz announced the expenditure of $1707.00 to replace a valve on pool equipment. This work has already been done. Tom Wright moved to accept pool costs, seconded, and passed unanimously.

Ron Perisho was asked to read through the Special Golf Committee’s recommendations for benefit of the Board. This booklet is available at the POA office for all who are interested.

Some of the recommendations include:

Weekend guest fees increase by 6 dollars                        Annual Membership Drive
Amenities included in golf membership                              Marketing Techniques
Twilight membership 1pm 7 days per week                      Electronic Marketing
Corporate membership, Couple Membership                    Golf Tournaments 3 per year
Corporate contact group                                                      Use of Marshals
       Market to young, working families
Food and Beverage purchased at 19th Hole
Marketing Group should establish Minimum Tournament fees

Charles Wood made a motion to approve all the recommendations. Betts Windsor made the second. Terry Shipp expressed his appreciation for to the Special Golf Committee. Mr. Shipp asked why the Twilight membership begins at 1pm. Betts Windsor explained the historical availability of the 1pm Tee time. There were concerns expressed by Tom Wright, Tom Lockette, and Terry Shipp. Mary Pracht did not agree that Diamondhead members should be charged more for golf fees than the Family Fun Center memberships “will be” ($20.00 with golf cart).

Ron Perisho explained the continuous member discount of 1% per year. At this time Jim Hannon reminded the Board of President Massey’s request that this “Working Committee” find ways to increase the income for the golf course. “So, when you are voting to approve these recommendations, keep that in mind.”

The motion to approve was defeated 4-2, with Jim Hannon not voting.

A residence on Diamondhead Drive requested an H-2 designation. This property has a remodeled home stretching across 3 lots. (H-3) This request was approved with a vote of 4-2, Charles Wood and Betts Windsor voting no.

The Board adjourned to Executive Session to review a disturbance at the 19th Hole.
