Town Meeting 9-16-10        

Ray Massey – President- welcomed all to the Town Meeting.

Tom Lockette – Treasurer
Announced that there was a net income of $6,000.00 for the month of August; compared to the budget of ($970.00)
The Finance Committee discussed “brain storming” for ideas to assist in Diamondhead’s recovery from this down turn in the housing market, i.e. the economy.
Actual numbers will be available at the Board Meeting.



New Business

     1. Fee for exercise class in banquet room
Mr. Massey explained that if you are a resident of Diamondhead and you want to use this facility and it is open to all Diamondhead residents, there will be no charge. “This place is for us, and for all of us to use, unless someone wants to book a private party.”

     2. New Book shelves in library.

                  First meeting will be Monday, September 20th. Project is to add shelves to Library.  Any and all who interested are invited to attend this meeting.

  •  Must have a valid drivers licence
  •  One Buck per member

  Mike MacFarlane explained the need to hold the deer herd down to a low number to maintain the health of the deer and the surrounding habitat. Director Terry Shipp gave his approval of this committee’s effort. Director Betts Winsor requested control over the geese population. Mike MacFarlane explained the process and will give information as to who should be contacted.

A letter was read by Director Ray Massey regarding the Family Fun Center.  This letter gave information regarding Mr. Brown's new location near the Deli.  Please referr to post dated 9-15-10 entitled "Larry Brown - Family Fun Center"

A letter by a “citizen” was read by Director Ray Massey stating their love of Diamondhead and critical of the “Internet site”….. referring to The Diamondhead Committee Report; suggesting The Committee Report is connected to other groups of individuals.
I made the following statement:
“ The Internet site is not controlled by anyone else but me, there is no committee. I welcome anyone who wants to critique anything that’s on there, because I do want it to be accurate.”
