Committee Reports:
Roads Committee – Ray Massey reported that the roads are completed at this point. Some work is being held back due to budget constraints.
Hunting Committee – No complaints have been reported.
Social Committee – Karen White: The New Year’s Eve party will have a live band. Cost will be $25.00 per person. The Halloween Party was a huge success.
Golf Committee – DeOtis Cotton: The 7th Green needs to be rebuilt. Money is needed for this project. The Committee has added $2,000.00 to ensure this project is completed. The Golf Committee is sponsoring a web-site with the proceeds from their firewood.

Anyone who needs firewood please call DeOtis or Ryan. As you can see, this money is going back into the community.
One member is needed for the golf committee. If interested please call DeOtis @ 262-9014 or RubyCotton43@yahoo.com Keith Harrison is the new liaison for the Golf Committee. Byron Efird has stepped down and is now the DPOA Treasurer.
Keith Harrison: (Paraphrased) All Golf Carts must be registered, and pay a registration fee of $20.00. This includes golf carts that are not used for golf. This money will go into repair of the golf trials and/or roads. It is recommended that stickers be placed on each cart. Once this measurer is adopted, it should be enforced on the golf course and roads. Please see Post entitled: Golf Committee Recommendations to the DPOA Board
Chief Joel Tyner: As stickers are placed on your car each year, questions will be asked regarding the number of cars you have, any other motorized vehicles, number of children & ages, pets, etc. This is to improve our records with the Police department.
Beautification Committee – Judy Thye:
- The Christmas House will be set up for Santa with the help of the Youth Committee.
- Annual Bake Sale will be this Saturday, Nov. 19th. Please have your baked goods delivered by 10:30 am
- Donations are still being taken for Door Prizes
- Fall decorations will be taken down on Nov. 29th
- Christmas decorations will begin on Dec. 2nd & Dec. 3rd “Last year we had a lot of help and were finished in no time.” If you would like to help this year, please show up! Dec. 3rd there will be a break for a lunch of hot dogs and chips.
- Luminaries will be on Dec. 17th – same time as BINGO
- Volunteers are currently preparing the bags. More volunteers are needs.
Standards Committee – Diane Porterfield:
- The Committee has agreed with the ACC Committee to revise the RV Parking regulations to read that the Standards Committee will issue the permits for RV parking.
- A complaint form has been sent to the POA office regarding a building near the 2nd Tee . This building is owned by DRC. The roof is caved in and is in need of repair.
- Joe is resigning as chairman of the committee, but will remain on the committee.
- We are looking at budget concerns regarding fuel usage.
- Public health issues – we are looking at possibilities of reducing portions of this budget. No answers, yet.
- Byron made his report indicating areas of concern and much need for improvement. “You’all have just as much right to the financial information as I do.”

- The Committee has changed it’s meeting time to Wednesday, Nov. 30th at 9:am and again on Dec. 14th at 9:am
- Betts Winsor : “You can not go on forever without raising dues.” (applause) “If we don’t want to raise dues we will drop something else.”
- Byron Efird: “It just seems funny to me that we don’t have a golf pro….and we spent $380.78 more than we budgeted for even without a golf pro. It should have been a lot less, not having a golf pro in the situation.

- Suggestions were made by the members regarding 19th Hole employees; cutting operation hours, menu cuts, cleaning of Club House facility,
- Last year we subsidized the 19th Hole $222,000.00 last year. Last month the 19th Hole paid for our food costs and the salaries.
A suggestion was made for a security camera. Rick said we have a camera, we have changed the locks, we are getting control over waste,…
- Suggestion was made to do away with the strofoam cups, and replace them with DH cups that can be purchased by members. This will save 8 cents per cup.

Updating of Vehicle Stickers – Joel Tyner:
- Please come by to get your updated stickers for your car.
The Public Safety Committee is concerned about children being allowed in the 19th Hole after the grill is closed. Rick made it clear that the 19th Hole is NOT a private club and is therefore not under the same regulations as such. Joe Claflin responded: “There is a moral issue regarding allowing kids to be in the 19th Hole being allowed to run in and out of the bar at 10 or 11 o’clock… and being exposed to (negative behavior). This is the opinion of the Public Safety Committee. If it is legal, it’s legal.”
Dan Monroe: “A DH resident, Roger Stahl has fallen on hard times.” Sunday we will be having a fund raiser – golf tournament for him. Please come to support our friend.
There will also be a memorial service for Agnus Carstens -> 2:pm at the DH Community Church.
Question: What arrangements have been made to clean this facility?
Answer: Lynn Noffsinger is cleaning the facility as ‘contract labor’. Suggestion: Why can’t the current employees take care of the cleaning of the bathrooms and public areas? Discussion ensued.
