Community Standards
Committee: Diane Porterfield
Two members of the Committee drove around the community and
took pictures of areas that need special attention. All information gathered has been shared with
the General Manager – Buddy Hudson.Good news: Areas that have been addressed in the past are looking good today! Thank you to the response from the community.
Architectural Committee:
A chairman for this committee has not, yet, been chosen. Things have been “very light” lately. Since the last Town Meeting, only 2 permits have been issued. One for a fence, and one for a storage building. Current open permits: 3 houses, 1 garage addition, 1 storage building.
Finance Committee:
Two major issues: 1. Bids have been requested for out-sourcing of our accounting system. This new firm will help us transition to a QuickBooks system. 2. A long term planning committee will be established with (possibly) John Porter as liaison.
Question: Where is the Financial Highlights?
Answer: We do not have staff in place at this time to produce a good financial report. This is the purpose of ‘out-sourcing’ our accounting system to a third party. This will prevent this situation from happening in the future.
Question: Why is this happening?
Answer: When our previous GM left, we did not have anyone cross-trained for that position. She was basically the soul source of knowledge in this area. The most accurate records we have are from June.
Question: She left when?
Answer: August.
Wild Life
Committee: Joe Claflin
A special program is being considered by this committee and
will be presented to the Board for approval.
Code of Ethics: John Porter
A meeting will be called for next week with the individuals
who have volunteered to serve.
Concerned Citizen: Jeanne Zdziarski
President Joe Claflin stated the 15 minute time limit for
the presentation with a 20 minute response time for the community. 3 minutes will be allowed per speaker with
each individual coming to the front of the room and using the microphone.Jeanne Zdiarzski made a clear presentation “about the Diane Porterfield personal blog”. The petition containing 60+ names was given to President Joe Claflin.
Here is a list of items stressed by this presentation and by other members of the community:
- The “Diamondhead” name must change
- Take all minutes & financial information off
- Your Thoughts Matter could be “libelous” and is “malicious innuendo”
- The Web address must be changed to take out the name “Diamondhead”
- Only positive information should be expressed.
Statements were made both pro & con.
It was stated that all information is accessible in the POA
office.
Diane thanked the community for holding her accountable for
her actions.
Director Diane Jones made a motion to discuss this issue in Executive Session.
