Agenda Meeting ~ July 17, 2014

The meeting opened with Roads Committee member Bob Jones explaining the need for a 36 inch culvert on Independence Drive.  Bob was instructed to proceed with acquiring the necessary bids.


ACC – John Cummings brought up a DPOA member’s request for an H3 status.  The Board agreed that “we don’t do this”.   
Editor’s Note: Lots 331, 332, 333 are currently in H3 status.

Golf – Larry Hibbs described the need for younger adults to be encouraged to join the golf membership in the effort to increase financial support for the golf course.  Larry will propose a single adult [age 20->32] membership at a cost of $800 without cart / $1,000 w/cart per year at next Thursday’s Town Meeting.

Treasurer John Porter made a request for a ‘firm policy’ for the viewing of official documents by DH members.
  1. Fill out a request for document form
  2. Office will reply within a reasonable time frame
  3. Member will be called to set up an appointment to view document

Annual Meeting ~ August 16th ~ 7:30 pm
    • Citizen of the Year Plaque has been purchased
    • Mike Fikes will be giving the opening & closing prayers
    • GM James Turner will make a ‘State of the Community’ address

 Topics to be discussed during the July 24th Town Meeting:
  • 4th of July Fire Works
  • Pool hours
    •      Over budget à Monday & Tuesday / closed
  • Pool diving board
  • Tennis Courts – clean up
  • Green Herb / 19th Hole – termination
  • Police Department – Joel Tyner
    • Non emergency / emergency phone numbers
    • Barrels at the Front Gate
    • South Side surveillance
  • Vehicle Stickers  - Board members & candidates

Burning of tree limbs & brush~
Candidate for the Board-Alan Thornton asked for clarification regarding the DPOA management’s EPA regulation ruling regarding the burning of tree limbs & brush.  It was agreed by all in the room that it is imperative that Diamondhead be allowed to burn downed & overhanging tree limbs.  Alan will be calling EPA for verification Friday morning.  According to the document provided by the POA office / GM, tree limbs & brush are not against the EPA ruling.
