Town Meeting ~ January 19, 2017

President Gary Pritch Welcomed the Town to January’s Town
meeting with an update on the make-up of the Board. He reminded those present of President Chris
Wasson & Vice President Larry Hibbs’ resignation from the Board of
Directors.

were passed out to each of the Board members and placed on the back table for

Committee Reports:
Roads Committee:
Bob Jones stated that an estimate of the road repair expense will be given to
the Finance committee for review.
Beautification
Committee: Kay Calderone announced the up coming fund raiser –Pancake Breakfast-
will be on April 15th.
Security Committee:
Allen Magee explained that a “24 hour” security proposal will be sent to the
Finance committee for approval.
Finance Committee: John Porter announced the Budget workshop
being held on Monday @ 5:30pm in the Library.
Social Committee: Debbie Clement shared the
excitement of the New Year’s Eve party.
75-80 beautifully dressed residents and friends enjoyed the music and
dance thanks to Bob Timmons and the delicious food brought by the attendees.
Up-coming
events: Super Bowl – February 5th – Chili Cook-off
DH 50th Anniversary Party planning
for 2019
Youth Committee: will be having a fund raiser for adults only
on February 25th from 6 -10pm.
$10.00 per person.
Christmas Bonus: given to DH employees was the largest in 3
years and was much appreciated by those who work hard in service to our
community.
Manager’s Report:
- GM Dennis indorsed the “outstanding” Christmas decorations provided by the Beautification Committee.
- Golf Course Questions asked by Resident-- Click on this link to view - GM stated he would answer these question when the Budget was approved.
- New merchandise purchased for the Golf Shop. Click on this link to view
- 2017 golf rates will be released at the same time as the Budget is approved.
- Outstanding Lots: total: 560
- 54 lots 1 yr in the rears
- 12 lots 2 yr in the rears
- 20 lots 3 yr in the rears
- 342 lots 4 yr in the rears
- 132 lots 5-10 yr in the rears
- 19 settlements = $20,000
- Trash in Yards was discussed with the GM agreeing to contact the resident(s) involved.
- Dogs running loose à GM shared his hesitation regarding the enforcement of Diamondhead’s leach law. Discussion ensued with individual stories of the dangers when dogs are allowed to roam free. GM agreed to look more closely into this issue.
- Tennis Courts up-date: GM indicated that the moneys have been allocated but work must be accomplished during fair weather. March may be the proper time to refurbish the Tennis & Basket Ball courts.
- Railing in disrepair: Suggestions were made to replace the damaged railing with wrought Iron fencing. Bill Milligan will be asked for an estimate. Click on the pictures to view:
- Storage lot suggestion: Discussion regarding the access of a level lot that may be fenced and used for storage of RVs, boats & utility trailers. This issue will be addressed at next week’s Board meeting.
- Standard of the Month: A suggestion was made to use the POA’s Constant Contact to share updates regarding the dog issue and the Rules & Regulations of our community.
