Roads Committee – Chairman Bob Jones as read by Board Liaison Gary Pritsch
To begin, I believe we have approximately 43 miles of roads in Diamondhead, approximately 30 miles of which are hard-surface (chip and seal).  For comparison, consider this:  Starting at the Diamondhead front gate, travel Highway 171 and Highway 84 to Interstate 30, go east and take the Highway 270 exit toward Hot Springs.  Travel Highway 270 to Carpenter Dam Road, and take Carpenter Dam Road back to Highway 290.  You still have not gone quite 30 miles.
Each year, the Roads Committee tries to examine that amount of road mileage and determine the mile or so that is in the greatest need of repair and resurfacing.  Additionally, they need to determine which culverts, if any, need replacing, which ditches are most in need of cleaning, and assess gravel roads for need of gravel and grading, then get Eddie to try to work that into his schedule.
Safety Committee – Committee Chairman Allan MaGee:  We think we have now come up with a plan the will improve the front gate tremendously.
Youth Committee – Board Liaison DJ Bell read for Katherine Duncan:
Good evening!  Being a part of the youth Committee for the past year has brought me much joy.  I enjoy seeing all the smiles on the kits’ faces during parties and activities.  We have had a fantastic year.  For Halloween, we had a head count of around 60 children for the party.  For Christmas, we had Santa and a hayride with about 40 children.  Then we had our Mardi Gras Fundraiser which was for adults only and raised almost $600 for the youth.  Easter came along and was a huge hit!  We hid over 350 eggs and had a wonderful turnout.  I hope to give the Youth of Diamondhead another fun year of activities!  My next move is another fundraiser to get ready for Halloween.  Thank you for letting me be a part of this great community!  My apologies for not being here tonight, but I am out of town.  Here's to another productive year!
Sincerely,
Katherine Duncan
