August Board Meeting Notes

President Gary Pritsch opened the meeting at 7:pm with Director Diane Jones being sworn into a 3-year term of office.

Martha Lindvall made a motion to approve the July minutes. Diane Jones seconded this motion.  Minutes passed unanimously.

Old Business

Straw Vote for the approval of $1891.37 Police car repair was ratified.
  Diane Jones made this motion, James Meredith seconded – Diane Porterfield voted No.  This motion passed with Martha Lindvall, Diane Jones, James Meredith and Cheryl Standing voting Yes.

Assessor’s office:  President Gary Pritsch & GM Dennis Dubuque met with the Assessor’s office to discuss the new appraisal of Diamondhead property of 2.3 million dollars.  After this meeting, the 2016 appraisal is $1.5 million and the 2017 appraisal will be $1.6 million.  DH has been paying tax on the Sewer treatment area for years, for which Diamondhead is now exempt.  Plus, the Assessor’s office provided information to receive an exemption from the Fire Department facility’s taxation.

New Business

Parliamentarian Position, as provided for in the newly approved Diamondhead By-Laws, has been filled by Mike Wynn with an alternate available if needed, by Steve Still.  Diane Porterfield made this motion, Cheryl Standing seconded à passed unanimously.

Budget: 

This year’s budget ‘needs 57.5 % gross profit margin to float…we are not making it’.  The Financial statements show liquor sales are below 70% GPM.
         -   GM Dubuque is looking into this matter.
Homes = 22 additional property owners are 120 days past due with the Annual assessment.          -   Total = 30.
Lots = 29->30 additional property owners are 120 days past due.
         -   Total of 60 property owners = $45-50 thousand
         -   Will be turned over to DPOA Attorney for collection

Diamondhead Manor Residents met with the Board of Directors to present a proposal of a “3-Tier” system of Annual Dues.  The Board expressed their appreciation for this open discussion.

James Meredith made a motion to adjourn to executive session, Diane Jones seconded this motion – approved unanimously.
