President Suzzi Combs welcomed the membership to the “first
meeting of the 13-14 Board”. The new
Board Members / Liaisons and Chairmen of the various committees were introduced. See Post “The
Committee Chairmen is chosen by the president, me. The Chairmen & the
Liaison choose all the members to the committees. We have had several committees with quite a
turn-over. It is just simply time for
some new blood, new ideas, and new direction for some of them. As Dr. Phil says about things in the past, ‘how
is that working for ya’. So, we are
going to try some new ideas and see if we can make some progress in this coming
year.”

“A lot of repairs are needed on the golf course, water lines
are going out, and equipment is breaking.
A lot of our equipment is pushing 40 years old.” One Tractor, “we can’t get parts for it any
more. It’s that old.” “We have a lot of equipment that needs to be
replaced but, unfortunately, we do not have the reserves to do that.”

Finance Committee ~ Frank Pohlkamp:
- We would like to say “Welcome” to accountant Neal Graves. We have been asking for help in the financial area of the office for the last few months.
- Two areas of concern year to date:
- April à August – Pool was over budget by $9700.00, payroll was over budget by $12,000.00
- During this same time period, the Security Department was over budget by $12,000.00 with payroll over budget by $7,000.00.
- The GM was to meet with all the department managers on a monthly basis. I don’t know if it happened. It sure does not appear that way.
- The Golf Course was under budget by #18,000.00. Keep up the good work.
- It is important for each department to know their budget and live to the budget.

Old Business:
Long Range Planning Survey: 180 residents, 20 non residents responded. Bob Jones is compiling this list and will make recommendations to the Board.

- New carpet in the 19th Hole: Bennett Flooring bartered carpet for golf. “None of your dues were spent, not a single penny.” Suzzi Combs
- Pool drained and cleaned. “Pool did very well.” Suzzi relayed Eddie's comment, ‘Next year we should be able to continue on with the same pool equipment that we have with no additional expenses other than just the normal maintenance.’
- Golf Course has 8 new outside players.
- Golf Course is “…is doing well.”

- Parking: A request was made for those needing handicap parking near the Club House to be respectful of others. Save this limited space for those who need it.
- Ken Benck suggested adding 1-2 more parking spaces.
- Family Amenity Membership: A possible revenue stream.

Second question: The Public Safety Committee made a recommendation for the removal of Wallace A. Hudson from the position as general manager, and President Suzzi Combs from the Board of Directors. We appreciate the removal of Mr. Hudson. What is the status on the second issue?
Answer from Suzzi Combs: “I have tried my darnedest to be patient, kind and loving. I’m about at the end of the rope. Jerry, all committees were defunct at the Annual meeting. Every committee is re-established every year. Your committee had nothing to do with the removal of Buddy Hudson.
Jerry McAnear: The recommendation that you be removed from the Board was made on August 7th, before we became defunct.

The lawsuit was directed to the current Board of
Directors, naming each one (Larry Hibbs omitted).
· "a. List
of current members names, addresses, home and cell phone numbers, email
addresses, and any other contact information they have provided;"

Jeanne Zdziarski stated,
“as long as I am working in the POA office, I will not give out your personal
information. Period.”

Christy Gieringer: #1. How
is the Board going to balance the finances between money spent on the amenities
and the money spent on the roads? Answer:
“We have a finance committee that will give input on this issue, but I can not
answer that”, Suzzi Combs

good communication between the Board and those that have issues?
Treasurer John Porter: My phone
# is listed, but no one has ever called me.
Christy: Why don’t
you call those that you know have issues with the Board?
Jeanne Zdziarski: If you come into the POA office, I will be
happy to give you the information you request.
Suzzi Combs expressed her desire to ‘count our blessing’, ‘don’t
let the negative publicity get us down’.
