Vice President Joe Claflin brought the meeting to order at 8:pm
December Board Minutes were approved unanimously.
Treasurer’s Report ~ John Porter: Passed as distributed & read at the Town
Meeting – Unanimously. See Financial Highlights as inserted in the Town Meeting Notes
- Finance Committee is meeting every Wednesday @ 9:am to review next year’s budget.
Moving the Police Department ~ Ken Benck: A Board meeting will be held at the PD office
/ Front Gate on February 5th @ 9:am to discuss Chief Joel Tyner’s
request to move the police department across the street to the Deli area. Some of the costs involved:
- Rental fee: $340.00 per month for new location. Zero payment at current location
- Utility fee: approximately $100.00 per month. (?) at current location
- Volunteers will be needed to man the current ‘Front Gate’ to be used for informational purposes.
- Police officers / Security personnel will be located outside of Diamondhead.
Police Vehicles ~ Ken Benck: A motion was made to approve (1) one vehicle for the police department by using
the Capital Reserve Fund. $39,000 -
$12,000 = $27,000 left in the Capital Reserve Fund. Motion was approved unanimously.
Front Gate Stickers ~ Ken Benck: Stickers are being purchased for next year’s
gate entrance fees. These stickers will
be placed in the upper left hand corner of the windshield, “no exceptions”.
Motion sensor Lights ~ Mary Pracht: The vote to approve these motion sensor
lights was rescinded. A Street light will be placed on the
electricity poles at the cost of $8.00 a month per light bulb.
Note: Mary Pracht
stated the Agenda Meeting Notes need to be corrected regarding this issue. These lights are needed for the Magnolia
trees at the Front Entrance, not the ‘Front Gate’ as was indicated.
Straw Vote: The straw
vote to approve $1,800 for road work done on Possum Run to provide access to a
DH member’s property was unanimously approved.
