Board Meeting ~ Feb. 26,2015

Board meeting began at 7:50 pm

January 22, 2015 minutes approved unanimously:
GM Report was given at the Town meeting - no further comments

The following Resolutions received a unanimous affirmative vote:
Sex Offender Resolution: 
Sex Offender Resolution

Insurance Resolution:
Insurance - Rescinded
Insurance - adopted
At the request of the golf shop & GM:
Golf fees rescinded











ATV usage on Diamondhead roadways has been tabled.
Fence to hide front pond has been tabled.
Split rail fencing issue has been tabled.


Dues Increase:
Treasurer John Porter announced the decision of the Finance Committee to request a Board approval of an annual dues increase to lot owners of $15.00
  • Vote was taken with 7 Board members present
    • Sharon Carr voted “no”.  After the meeting, Sharon stated that she made a campaign promise NOT to vote for any dues increase.
    • Vote result:  Ken Benck, Gordon Moore, Joe Claflin, John Porter, Diane Jones voted “yes”.  Sharon Carr voted “no”.  Mary Pracht did not vote.
      • By-Laws as noted by Treasurer John Porter:
        Article VI, Section 1, (d)
    • Suzi Combs & Larry Hibbs were called to ask for their vote.  Neither available via cell phone for comment.
    • It was decided to convey their response by email.  A ‘Straw vote’ was needed to provide the information to the GM before the annual assessments are mailed out to the property owners.

Director Diane Jones asked Treasurer John Porter about the need for an increase for the home owners, as well.  John Porter stated the possibility of a $100 à$150 à $200 ? increase. John indicated the committee was leaning toward a $100 increase.  Diane Jones asked, “will we be squeaking by with $100 increase?”  Answer: Yes.  Diane Jones: Why don’t we make it a $125 increase?  Discussion continued.

President Mary Pracht requested the Treasurer / Finance Committee explain, in detail, the need for this dues increase.  John Porter assured her this would be accomplished.

CLUBHOUSE BANQUET ROOM


The above mentioned 'Open Board Meeting' will be held to discuss and vote on the proposed Lot Owner Dues Increase.
