Town Meeting ~ Feb. 26, 2015

Town Meeting began with committee reports:

Beautification & Golf committees – Sharon Perisho announced

• Pancake Breakfast – Saturday, April 4^th
• Daffodil Tournament – May 17^th

Community Standards Committee – Ken Benck

·       Meeting will be held on the second Monday of March

Roads Committee – Diane Jones stated there is money left from last year for work that was not completed.

Long Range Planning – General Manger James Turner:

            “Still trying to read through the massive amount of material.”

Rabies Clinic – Diane Jones:

·       Licensed clinician from All Creatures Animal Hospital

·       $7.50 per vaccine

·       Cats in the Bridge Room

·       Dogs in the Cart Barn

·       Vouchers available for Spay / Neuter

·       Pre-Registration required

Youth Committee – Keven Cooper

• Slim Chickens will be providing 20% of the purchase price to the Youth Committee from every meal that is sold to a “Diamondhead” individual next month.  More info will be provided.
• Board secretary, Diane Jones stated Movie Night has been successful.  One area of concern may cause a halt to this activity…. ‘peeing in the boy’s bathroom’.

Treasurers Report – John Porter:  “The Financial Highlights are NOT financial statements.”

• Golf expenses are constant – revenue fluctuates
• Finance Committee is ‘close to finalizing the budget’.
• GM Turner corrected the number of Houses on the POA Delinquencies to 39

Police Report for January 2015:

President Mary Pracht asked the Town for any comments regarding the ‘Truck Signage’ issue.  No response received.  Issue was declared closed.

New Gates and road guards are being discussed by the Security Committee.

Sex Offender Resolution – ACIC website  is a public site available for information concerning sex offenders living in your area.

ATV / Arkansas Traffic Code:

·       The Arkansas Traffic Code was adopted by the DPOA Board at the Jan. 22^, 2015 Board meeting. 

·       The Code states that ATVs are not allowed on Arkansas roadways.  Click here.

·       DH Resolution 2006-30-13  - ATVs not allowed in Diamondhead

·       2012 – Under GM Buddy Hudson’s management & approval from the Board – All motorized vehicles (including ATVs) were to be registered at a cost to the owner of $10.00.  Resolution 2006-30-13 forgotten?

·       DH police officer stated that if citations are given to ATV owners for driving on the DH roadways, owners will object à court costs will insue.

·       As discussed: 

o      ATVs may travel along the side of the roadways, under power lines, and to cross the road.

o      An Arkansas license may be obtained from the state making it legal to drive on the roadways.

Fence to cover “scum pond”:  John Porter proposed a 60 foot fence that would hide the pond from the incoming traffic.  Beautification Committee member, Gail Porter, offered to bring this issue before the committee.  This issue was ‘tabled’ for further discussion.

Split Rail Fence:  John Porter clarified the location of the proposed fencing.

·       Split Rail fencing is not readily available to be purchased.

·       Exchange the split rail fencing along the left side of the drive way to FFA Camp with a black chain length fence.

·       Use the split rail fencing material obtained to replace the missing and/or broken split rails along Hwy 290.
