Last evenings Benefit Golf Tournament Update:
Nearly 100 players played nine holes in honor of Bob Bowyer of the DH police department. The meal was served before play by Backyard Burgers owned by DH auxiliary policeman, Earl Freeland. Todd, Joel and Dennis (from the proshop) organized this event. Their was a very emotional video put together by Chief Joel Tyner with the help of Bob's wife, Pat. Joel presented an award to Bob for 10 years of dedicated service. The tournament raised over $2,800 given to Bob to help pay hospital bills, etc.
Bob was able to attend and visit with everyone. He said he felt better than he had in a long time. He gave a very emotional speech to everyone. Most of his family from outside of DH attended also.
Prizes were given for Mixed flights and all Men's flight. Winners of the mixed flights were Bill and Char Donnally and Byron and Cendy Efird. Men's flight was won by Chief Joel, Bubba Watson, Wade Hughes, and ???. (can get later).
This event was also Pat's son's idea and has helped really hard on putting this event together. His name is Donnie Donihue and he & his family just moved to DH / Southside, about 5 weeks ago. "Donnie has totally been our Rock through out all of this." Pat's sister, and her Husband from Arizona, flew here for the week so they could be here with the Bowyers.
"Bob is doing better and we go back to Little Rock next Tuesday for another Chemo. and to go over his last CT Scan with the Dr. This has been a BIG change in our lives but I (We) feel so blessed that Bob is still with us. Will keep you posted." Pat Bowyer
