The regularly scheduled
September Board meeting was moved to October 5th due to a lack of quorum.
Meeting was opened by
President Gary Pritsch at 7: pm. The
August Board minutes were unanimously approved as read.
Committee Reports:
50th
Anniversary Committee – Debbie Clement
explained they are waiting for recipes to come in to add to the DH cook book
that will be on sale during the November, 2018 bake sale.
Long Range Planning – Chairman Steve Still brought the Board up to date

ACC Committee – Sharon Carr explained the need for New Life
Construction to acquire proper permits.

Beautification Committee – Martha Lindvall: Bake sale: November 18th, Fall decorations have been displayed.
Community Standards – Cheryl Standing:
GM Dennis Dubuque has been handling complaints from the POA office. Dennis is speaking to property owners with
individual concerns.
Finance Committee – John Porter:

Golf Committee – James Meredith: The committee provided funds for #12 & #18
– cart path holes to be filled.
Public Relations – Jim Ott: Sharon Perisho
& Jim Ott has been brain-storming ideas for advertising Diamondhead.
Roads Committee – Diane Jones:
Spa Construction and Mark Dawson / Tri-Lakes have been digging, filling
and sealing holes in the roadways. The
drainage ditches need cleaning out to keep the water off the roads. All the drive-way culverts need to be cleaned
out by the home-owners to aid in the water flow away from the roadways. The Roads Committee chairman, Bob Jones, has been asking for a paid staff member to maintain the integrity of DH roadways for over 4 years - to no avail.
· Some of the trees in the ditches are over 6 inches in diameter

The filling of
the same pot-holes must be done every year until the drainage ditches are
maintained adequately.
Safety Committee – Gary Pritsch:
Suggest using the old color stickers to put back on vehicles for added

Wild Life Committee – Dennis Dubuque:
Bow Season has started for Deer Hunting – 2 deer have been harvested.
Social Committee – Sharon Perisho:
Had their first DH wedding last weekend.
Will be decorating for Christmas.
Facilities Committee – Dennis Dubuque:
Dennis and volunteers painted the Pool building. Will be painting the new Cart Barn and the
facial area where the old pro-shop used to be.
Suggestions were made for interior paint colors.
OLD BUSINESS
Letter to the Developer – Gary Pritsch:

Stop signs – Martha Lindvall:
Several signs needed to replace the signs that are faded, dirty, knocked
down, etc. Each sign will cost
$35.00. GM Dennis suggested property
owners wash their road signs near them to improve quality of signs and our
community. President Gary Pritsch reminds the community of a program called “adopt
a sign” that was adopted years ago.
Tax assessment – Gary Pritsch: 1,594,000.00 for Garland County - Instead
of $1.619 million. This process will
continue when the Hot Spring County tax assessment is received.
Budget – Gary Pritsch:
Suggests the Board start discussing next year’s budget items before it
is turned over to the Finance Committee in January.
Other Business:
Sprayed & Brown
vegetation – Dennis Dubuque: Entergy poisoned the vegetation under the
power lines. The result is ugly dead
trees and brush. It seems Entergy will
not be removing this debris. GM Dennis
has plans underway to bush hog these areas.
Wireless Internet – Dennis Dubuque:
“Big Dog Wireless” wants to add a receiver to the top of the water tower
to provide service to DH community.
Diamondhead does not own the water tower. Costs for this service was discussed.
Scum Pond – Dennis Dubuque:
The 26 fish, purchased for $5 each, to remove the green growth has not
been successful. A sample of this algae
growth will be taken to the University of Arkansas for testing. This #1 front pond is 4 feet at its deepest
level.
Add the word “rescind” to the third sentence in paragraph #6 of the March
23, 2017 minutes. This sentence will
read: Martha Lindvall made a motion, Diane Jones seconded to rescind
Resolution 2005-20-01 … Passed
unanimously.
Cart Barn – Gary Pritsch:
The contract entered into with contractor Bill Milligan to build the new
cart Barn was for $13,000 plus any additional beams or posts that needed to be
replaced due to rot. An additional $2,300.00
must be approved due to the need to replace an additional 60 feet of
beams. Total cost $15,300.

explained that years of neglect added to this cost

Sharon Carr asked
if golfers could supply this extra cost
·
Diane Porterfield
suggested a golf fundraiser to provide for the $5,300.00 that was added to the original
$10,000 approved in this year’s budget.

Diane Jones
suggested an increase in cart space rental when using this cart barn.

Director Jim Ott
made a motion to approve the $2,300 addition cost to come from the Capital
Improvement Fund. Cheryl Standing
seconded.

with Martha Lindvall, Diane Jones, Sharon Carr, Jim Ott, James Meredith &
Cheryl Standing voting for and Diane Porterfield voting against.
Martha Lindvall made a motion
to adjourn to executive session, Diane Porterfield seconded this motion. Motion passed.
