Report from Wildlife Committee:
Mike McFarland is the Chairperson for this
committee. In his absence Rick Noffsinger provided this
report. The Wildlife Committee has 20 members. Up from 15 last year. The
committee works closely with the Arkansas State Game & Fish. It was
recommended a quota of 35 deer be taken this year from Diamondhead. This is a
mixture of bucks and does. The committee has assigned different hunting
areas to the members. Bow hunting only. Some residents believe that
the gun fire and poaching comes from this committee membership. This
membership is not part of this illegal behavior, they actually assist with
keeping poaching to a minimum. This committee has been successful
in generating healthy deer in Diamondhead and they have made many contributions
to Diamondhead. Last year they purchased the patrol unit that our Chief
currently uses. In the past they have purchased uniforms and replacement of
another maintenance truck that was damaged due to storms. The current
Wildlife Committee has demonstrated to be a great asset to this
community. Mike will provide a report to the Board at the next town
meeting.

THE BLOG: Kathie
DeVilbiss commented on the name of the Diamondhead Committee Report. This has Diamondhead’s name but is not
sanctioned by Diamondhead. “It is just
gossip.”
After the meeting Kathie and I discussed this issue
privately. I challenged Kathie to find
any “gossip” on The Blog. We viewed The
Blog together looking for “gossip”. None
was found.
