I just want to ‘clear the air’ about permitted outlets. When someone gets a permit everything within the walls of that place are considered "permitted". You can not bring alcohol into that place. The alcohol that is sold in the facility is taxed. The alcohol in here must be purchased from here and that money goes into the swimming pool, salaries, etc. The permit is expensive.
It is always inside the “foundation walls” of the facility Unopened or opened, if it wasn’t purchased here -> it can not be brought in here. You can buy your beer to go. If it is not opened you can leave here with it. You can not take open containers out of here.
As soon as you walk out with the alcohol, it can not be brought back in.
If you are buying a beer from a golf cart that was selling beer during a tournament, it can not be brought into the facility.
The patio permit was started because of non-smoking facilities. The smokers were asked to go outside onto the patio….So, the patio has become the extended walls of the facility that caries an alcohol permit. A beer / alcohol drink must not leave the walls of the facility/patio or be brought onto the patio from outside.
Several years ago Mike and I were allowed to keep the old Country Club bar open until the building was sold. The GM and the board at that time requested I attend the classes in Little Rock that were offered by the Alcohol Beverage Control (ABC) Board. After passing these classes and test, I know the do's & don'ts that are permitted to our Club & 19th Hole.
I was glad Charlie Davis came to the Town Meeting last week to explain what our alcohol permit allows. There are so many members who did not understand these laws. When the employees of the 19th Hole and volunteers from Bingo enforce the laws, we become the BAD GUYS. Fortunately all the members apologized to us after the laws were explained.
We need to continue our support to the Club & 19th Hole with abiding by the laws to keep our alcohol permit. This is one permit we need to keep.
